Job Description
Part-time, 40 hours per pay period. Hours are 5:45am-2:00pm or 11:15am-7:30pm including weekends and holidays.
Prepares, cooks, and seasons all food and nourishments for all patients, cafeteria clientele, and catered events according to physician diet orders. Carries out other duties as assigned. Knowledge of cooking terms, food preparations methods, and ability to organize the production of many menu items. Ability to follow written and verbal English instructions, and communicate verbally to other staff. Need to practice good personal hygiene, and be free of communicable disease. Respect the rights and dignity of all clients served. Ability to establish a cooperative working relationship with the other Nutrition Service employees and others in the facility. When students are providing patient care, treatment, and/or services as a part of their training, any/all employees may be asked to supervise the students.
Required Skills
No formal education required. Ability to read and express self in written form, GED or high school education desirable. Prior quantity cooking, experience required
